Women Aware: Safe House
The Safe House at Women Aware is an emergency shelter in an undisclosed location. Our Safe House provides shelter for up to ten families in a 24-bed house. It is a safe, home-like environment that offers women and children solace and comfort during a difficult time. Our Safe House is staffed 24/7 by warm and welcoming professionals. We are handicap accessible and also accommodate individuals who are hearing impaired, have special dietary needs, etc.
The Safe House staff at Women Aware provides food, transportation, case management and advocacy, residential support groups, resources and referrals to appropriate services, as well as safety planning. We will also assist our clients with goal setting, which may include seeking employment or education, financial and legal needs, applying for documentation papers, and housing search assistance. In addition, we offer many activities such as Trauma Sensitive Yoga, Homework Club, movie nights, and park outings. Services are provided in English and Spanish.
