Women Aware: Permanent Supportive Housing
The Permanent Supportive Housing program at Women Aware is designed to provide affordable housing to victims of domestic violence and their children who are able to live safely with supportive services. Women Aware’s Permanent Supportive Housing building is the first in New Jersey for victims of domestic violence.
The program builds self-sufficiency by working with families on safety, independence, emotional health and wellness, socialization and community connectedness, education and financial fitness. Case managers help to connect families to the full range of services that best fit their needs including counseling, entitlements, healthcare, education and training. Service plans are developed jointly with the resident and assessed periodically to identify those needs that have been met and new service needs to be addressed. The program’s goal is to assist survivors to reach their fullest potential by providing innovative, high-quality, community-based services that promote independent living. Services are provided in English and Spanish.
